There are two types of multi-stage centrifugal pumps: vertical and horizontal. The pump shaft of a multi-stage centrifugal pump is equipped with two series of impeller in series, which can achieve higher lift relative to the ordinary single-stage centrifugal pump. Compared with single-stage pumps, the multi-stage centrifugal pumps are different in that the multi-stage pump has more than two impeller, which can absorb water and pressure water in a number of stages, thus raising the water to a high position. The lift can increase the series of pump impeller according to the requirement.

The characteristics of multi-stage centrifugal pump:

• The multi-stage centrifugal pump is a vertical structure with a small footprint and the center of the pump is coincident to the center of the pump, thus it can run smoothly, and has small vibration and long life.
• The multi-stage centrifugal pump has the same caliber and it is in the same horizontal center line, without changing the pipeline structure, it can be directly installed in any part of the pipeline, and the installation is very convenient.
• The motor with the rainproof cover can be directly used outside, without the need to build the pump room, which greatly saves the infrastructure investment.
• The multi-stage centrifugal pump lift can meet different requirements by changing the pump series (number of impeller), so the scope of application is wide.
• The shaft seal is sealed with hard alloy mechanical seal, reliable, it has no leakage and small mechanical loss.
• Efficient energy saving and beautiful appearance.

Performance characteristics: the multi-stage pumps are mainly used for mine drainage, city and factory water supply. Relative to piston pump, diaphragm pump and other reciprocating pump, it can also pump large flow. The high efficiency of multi-stage centrifugal pump can meet the needs of high lift and high flow conditions, and has been widely used in petrochemical, chemical, electric power, construction, fire fighting and other industries.

Because of its particularity, compared with single-stage centrifugal pump, the multi-stage centrifugal pump has different and higher technical requirements in design, use and maintenance.
